Contrary to News Reports: The Park WILL BE OPEN this summer! Only the trails leading down to the bottom of the falls will be closed for reconstruction for most of the summer! The rest of the park will be open and you can see the falls top-to-bottom from the falls overlook!
Construction along Highway 89 near the park starts mid-April, so expect some delays.
We are planning a VOLUNTEER DAY for Friends of the Park to help with park projects! Hope you can give us a hand on September 14th!
Join in the fun for another memorable and historical event! Dress up like the folks in the old days and join us, Sunday October13, 2024 Noon to 4:00 PM! Youngsters’ eyes are opened to the Pioneer (circa 1870’s) lifestyle, an era before internet and smart phones. For the mature crowd, it’s an opportunity to remember stories told by ancestors and historians. For all, it is a hands-on experience, learning how things were done in the pioneer days!
Among the activities are candle making, doll-making using native materials, branding cedar rounds and the lost art of calligraphy. Additional exhibits include blacksmithing, brand designing, rope-making, two-man saw bucking, beading. We will also feature indigenous food, arts and crafts and dancing!
Enjoy musical entertainment provided by the ever popular Ol’ Time Fiddlers while eating vittles cooked over a fire and drinking hand pressed apple cider. Food and drinks are available for purchase from the Burney Lions Club. Free parking!
